Genetics determine the mature size of a miniature pig. We do not inbreed or starve out pigs to stay small. • Feed a diet specifically made for miniature pigs. In addition to the formulated diet, you can feed a good variety of fresh vegetables. • Do not overfeed - never feed as much as they will eat since pigs have voracious appetites. If over fed your 20 pound pig can grow • Ensure plenty of fresh water is always available • An outdoor pig must have shelter from wind, cold and heat. In the winter, an insulated house similar to a doghouse • Inside pigs can also be trained to go outside to relieve themselves, just like dogs can. By 3-5 months old they can begin • Do not use clay cat litter in the pigs litter box. Pine shavings, newspaper litter and sand are safer. • Your pig should be wormed twice a year. Hoofs trimmed as needed. • Should your pet pig be vaccinated? That is a question of some debate in the pig world. Check with your local vet.
